Kate Daisy Grant

Brighton-based recording artist Kate Daisy Grant specialises in twisted pop lullabies and bittersweet fairy tales straight from "the junk shop of her heart".

On her debut album, Kate Daisy Grant plays piano and an assortment of toy instruments alongside her touring band-mate Hannah Marshall on cello and musical saw. Dustbin-lid percussion, trombone and recorders all add to the eclectic mix. Hailed by Jon Ronson on BBC Radio 4 as “a wonderful new talent whose voice and lyrics penetrate the emotions straight away,” Grant’s live band also includes multi- instrumentalist and musical magician Nick Pynn, with whom she completed a run of 21 shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2011.

Grant’s eponymous album was recorded at London's Livingston Studios (Bjork, REM and Magic Numbers) under the guidance of producer and songwriter Ken Rose and his recently launched Telescopic Baby label.
