Daemonia Nymphe

The first artists worldwide to compose and perform improvisations with ancient Greek instruments.

Daemonia Nymphe is an esoteric ensemble consisting of Spyros Giasafakis and Evi Stergiou, who perform and compose with ancient Greek instruments, including the handcrafted kitharis, lyra and barbitos, designed by Nikolaos Brass to be true to the authentic materials and ethos.

Currently based in the UK, the group has released music on labels in Germany and Italy, most prominently working with Prikosnovenie records, a long established French record company specializing in world music.

Daemonia Nymphe appear on several compilations by European and International labels alongside tracks by artists such as Lisa Gerrard, Loreena McKennitt, Low and Ladytron. Having performed in Austria, England, France, Belgium, Germany, Bulgaria, Italy, Cyprus, Spain, the Netherlands and Greece, their presentations are also featured in the short film Life in Five Acts and the production The Treasures of Athens and Olympia. They have composed and performed music for a multitude of theatre productions.
